
IBM corporation is planning to buy Vivisimo, declared director of strategy for IBM’s InfoSphere Portfolio David Corrigan. Vivisimo is an leading independent provider of enterprise search solutions located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. All the issues of the agreement are planned to be solved within the period of 4-6 months. The merge of IBM and Vivisimo is predicted to enhance IBM’s abilities of data analyzing. As for the Vivisimo, such merge will help the provider to receive global sales force. It is said that Vivisimo has customers from different spheres from government to consumer goods.
Corrigan noted that Vivisimo will be a part of the Information Management division of IBM and will assist IBM in data automation in analytics applications. As Corrigan mentioned, IBM’s clients required big data storage and their analysis. Those demands played a key role in IBM’s decision to buy Vivisimo.
And now with the successful merge of two giants IBM clients will carry on bigger data marketing projects. IBM also states that they will make the search easier and quicker. As for the data analysis – the reason of the fuss – it will become also faster and the software will be able to analyze bigger data amounts.
Earlier in April IBM launched its new software that was designed to enlighten the work with data. And now the merge with Vivisimo will only improve that software.
Corrigan in his interview informed that IBM is not planning to reorganize completely the personnel organization in Vivisimo but he refused to comment on any issue about any personnel or money matters before the agreement is signed.
